This scholarship is offered by Melissa Crickard Books to a graduating high school female entering a STEM field of study in a U.S. post-secondary college or trade school. Award is given in honor of the United States female astronauts Judith Resnik, Christa McAuliffe, Kalpana Chawla and Laurel Clark who perished aboard the final Challenger and Columbia missions. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States and have no convictions of felony or misdemeanor charges in the past or pending. The minimum award for the scholarship is $750.00. Additional contribution as a percent of profit from Melissa Crickard books for the year of award, of least 10 percent, to a maximum award of one full year tuition. Purchase of Melissa Crickard books is optional at checkout, and is not required, nor is it considered a factor in award decision. Award is 100% merit based. If applicant is selected, credentials must be verified with an official transcript request from secondary school and standardized test body (SAT or ACT).
